Garage sale

Today was day one of two or our HUGE garage sale. My friend Sarah is hosting it at her home in Bothell. It’s mostly hers & our stuff, but also there were some donations by some of her friends. It was a crazy start! She got rushed by shoppers before I got there to help set things out. And I had an adventurous drive from the store to her house with a car full of helium balloons! (Never doing that again!) Half the day was spent organizing and pricing items. We sold things at below bargain prices with the main intention of getting rid of junk. But we’re also donating all the proceeds to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Today’s sale made about $500! We’ll see how tomorrow goes. Probably not as much since most the big ticket items were sold (bunk bed, weight set, speakers, etc). It was the first good hot day we’ve had in a while. My faith that “summer will eventually come” has been restored.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚ In fact, I even got mildly sun-burnt… apparently I need stronger sunscreen.

Tomorrow morning we have swim/run practice with a bike maintenance clinic, then it’s straight back to Sarah’s house for another exciting day of yard sale! It’s not too bad actually. You get to see some interesting people, some real characters in fact. And you get the satisfied feeling of getting rid of old clutter, with the hope that someone else will appreciate it more. I’m actually looking forward to tomorrow. And to a fun day with my husband on Sunday… hoping to do a very long bike ride.

Good night! ๐Ÿ™‚
