Good news

Thanks to a generous donation by our favorite chiropractor (for the last 5 years), Yancy has met his fund-raising goal for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! The next week and a half will be focused on final training, resting up, and getting mentally prepared for the big event on June 19th. It’s going to be epic! Our race is in Victoria, Canada. We’ll swim 1.2 miles in Elk Lake, bike a tough/hilly 54 miles, then run 20 kilometers (that’s about 12.4 miles) on a mostly gravel trail around the lake. It will take somewhere between 7 & 8 hours. I did it last year and I know I can do it again… and probably make better time. This is Yancy’s first triathlon, but I know he’s going to do great. He’s worked really hard and made so much improvement since we started this journey back in November.

And guess what, it doesn’t end there! I still have a big list of endurance events this year! And I’m still fund-raising (probably for the last time for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society). Here’s the link if you’d like to help me out.  🙂  Next year I’m thinking of working with a charity that either works to end diabetes or childhood obesity (or maybe one that promotes women’s heart health).
